Last year, we worked with Hawaii Malls, General Growth Properties and CallisonRTKL to build and install over 100 custom large format Hidden Hinge Backlit LED Light Boxes at the Ala Moana Center, one of the world’s largest open air malls, on the island of Oahu in Hawaii. The light boxes are used for advertising, branding and directory signage.
Distributed throughout the mall, the installation is a mix of various designs including light boxes with low profile steel post pedestals, others without pedestals, several with stainless steel bases and others with flared stone bases, each design selected to best complement the local retail environment. Many of the light boxes are mounted to existing columns.
Hidden Hinge Backlit LED Light Box
The Hidden Hinge Backlit LED Light Box is ideally suited for high traffic environments as it has a streamlined hinged aluminum face frame with two keyed locks that secure graphics. An internal snap frame allows graphics to be changed easily as needed. With a standard depth of 3-7/8″, the single side version of this light box is also ADA-compliant.
The versatility of the Hidden Hinge Light Box includes a 6-3/4″ deep double-side model for visual display on two sides. Backlit LED lighting provides bright and even, energy-efficient illumination.
