Eye-catching signage can be a valuable component in your marketing strategy. The existence of an LED light box display is enough to make your business stand out in a crowd. Your brand can achieve far more recognition and attention from customers after installing these LED light boxes. Illuminated signage, such as an LED light box, can give you an extra edge over your competition. These unique displays use LEDs to provide uniform illumination of a printed graphic or advertisement. They also use less electricity and are much cooler than incandescent lights, which means they are safer, not as hot, and less likely to break. LED light boxes also use epoxy lenses which are much more resistant to breaking as opposed to glass. Now, let’s talk more about LED light boxes and how to maintain them for a long lifespan.

What is an LED Light Box?

An LED light box is a powerful marketing tool used in retail stores, restaurants, museums, airports, and many other commercial settings. An LED light box is an illuminated display that uses light-emitting diodes (LEDs) to highlight a graphic or sign. LED light boxes are often made to be extremely durable and flexible.

LED light boxes are great for advertisements or informational signage. They range from snap frame light boxes to SEG Fabric light boxes with many different sizes in between. Available in many different shapes and sizes, they can be mounted to a wall, an art installation, or a freestanding display. Your advertising graphic can be printed on a backlit film substrate or printed directly onto an acrylic sheet.

How Long Does an LED Light Box Last?

LED lights are much more energy-efficient than fluorescent or incandescent lighting, and they last longer, making them a better investment. According to Department of Energy reports, an LED bulb can last 30 times longer than an incandescent light bulb. While the lifespan of a light box can vary depending on usage, LED light boxes tend to last up to 100,000 hours.

Safety first, which means all LED light boxes must have UL Certification to ensure they are okay for usage indoors and outdoors. At DSA Signage, we guarantee our LED light boxes for 24 months from the date of shipment, under normal operation, for the intended use. The warranty timeframe for our Value line products varies from six months to one year. All DSA Signage products are UL listed.

How to Maintain an LED Light Box

Fortunately, LED light boxes are super durable, long-lasting, and require minimal maintenance. In fact, they require no training to manage and operate. When you receive your light box, make sure to read the manual thoroughly to ensure proper installation and operation, or you can have your LED light box professionally installed.

Certain factors, such as excess heat and humidity, may reduce the lifespan of the LED light strips inside the box. Turn off the light box when it is not in use to extend the life of the LEDs. Always make sure to clean it properly so to keep dust and dirt out of the crevasses. When not used, store in a safe temperature-controlled environment.

Inspect your LED light box occasionally to check for any issues. If the screen or frame has accumulated dust or debris, you can gently clean them with a damp cloth. This will ensure that they are operating properly without dust or debris clouding the light distribution inside the box.
